The second phase, towers 3 and 4 of Miramar Village are back in development at Hillcrest Mall in White Rock, BC.
This mixed-use project includes several key components: a central public plaza; three and four storey podiums along the streetscape with retail and offices on the lower levels and residential units on the upper levels; and four residential high-rise towers with amenities; the completed Phase I with two 17 to 22-storey towers; Phase II with two 15 to 17-storey towers.
Phase II will see the completion of two residential towers, a “Retail Village” with a galleria centred around the public plaza, a major grocery store chain, additional ground level commercial/retail space and ample subsurface parking.
To ensure the project embraces the surrounding neighbourhood, the plazas’ several key passages lead outward to the surrounding streets and park. These newly created mews provide pedestrian, vehicular, service and emergency access. The mews entrances that terminate at the street are designed as distinctive thresholds with strong expressive architectural forms. The use of high-quality materials and detailing mark and celebrate these important gateways.
“I think the final result will be beautiful…The revised design, as I understand it, is thinner than was originally proposed, which will open up the view corridor (for current residents).”
“This will get it finished and it will work in well with the revitalization of the Johnston Road corridor.”
– Mayor Wayne Baldwin
